What's in a Name
Single origins often carry different names depending on the buyer—each one telling the story of its origin and offering a glimpse of what to expect in the cup.
Origin
The Philippines has a long history of coffee production that dates back centuries. Over the last decade, however, a small wave of quality-focused producers has ushered in a new era of exciting and delicious coffees from the island nation.
Region
This coffee comes to us from the high plateau of Bukidnon. Located at the foothills of the Kalatugan Mountain Range, it has rich volcanic soil and a unique microclimate, making it ideal for coffee cultivation.
Producer
In 2020, our friends and partners at Kalsada Coffee helped build the Sitio San Roque mill for a cooperative of farmers in Pigtauranan. While this lot is a natural processed coffee, Sitio San Roque is known for experimental processing methods such as anaerobic fermentation.

Partnership
Our partners at Kalsada Coffee work with small, quality-focused producers like Sitio San Roque throughout the Philippines. They help farmers meet quality standards by providing training and investing in machinery and equipment.
Taste
With bright, jammy notes, and complex aroma that evoke fresh herbs and baking spices, this coffee expresses the fruity and floral side of Philippine coffee.
Processing
Natural processing adds a jammy quality to the cup, resulting in a complex fruit character that comes through with distinct berry and tropical fruit notes.
